Treatment, Not Terror: Time for Unique Problem-Solving Partnerships for Cancer Care in Resource-Challenged Environments

Over the past few years, lowand middle-income countries (LMICs) have been increasingly plagued by two distressing trends: increasing numbers of deaths as a result of terrorist incidents and increasing incidence of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), including cancer. The daunting and at times overwhelming nature of these issues provides the incentive needed to build uniquely effective global problem-solving partnerships.
